03.05.2013 Third Photo Exhibition on Free Speech and Information Marks World Press Freedom Day in Armenia

"Freedom of Press: the Right to Know" is the theme of the exhibition that opened in Yerevan today to mark World Press Freedom Day. The event, organized by the Freedom of Information Center of Armenia NGO in cooperation with the Delegation of the European Union to Armenia, USAID Armenia and OSCE Yerevan Office, brought together journalists, representatives of state institutions and civil society in Armenia.

08.04.2013 Football Federation of Armenia must answer in 5 days

Freedom of Information Center of Armenia, upon the request of citizen Ashot Mnatsakanyan, has filed a written inquiry to the president of the Football Federation of Armenia asking to explain why Mnatsakanyan couldn’t watch Armenia-Czech Republic football match, while having a ticket.

25.02.2013 The head of the “Daughter Marianna” Co. Ltd was imposed to pay an administrative penalty for not providing information

On February 19, 2013 the RA Administrative court decided to impose n administrative penalty on the head of the "Daughter Marianna" Co. Ltd Tigran Vardanyan for not providing information to the Freedom of Information Center’s information requests.

08.02.2013 The FOICA filed a lawsuit against the RA National Assembly

On April 8, 2013 FOICA filed a suit at the RA Administrative Court against the RA National Assembly, appealing the refusal of the RA NA regarding to the FOICA's request to receive information. FOICA has asked the Court to recognize the fact of violation of the right of FOICA to receive information and oblige the RA National Assembly to provide the requested information.

23.01.2013 Rules for providing information on criminal cases are adopted

The Freedom of information Center and RoA Prosecutor General’s Office have developed rules for providing information on criminal cases, within the USAID supported Access to Information for Community Involvement project.
