21.03.2006

According to the court decision of March 14, 2006 the governor of Nurnus provided complete information to FOICA.

On January 16, 2006 the FOICA Kotayk regional lawyer Robert Ghazaryan applied to the head of Nurnus village G. Mkrtchyan requesting to provide information about citizens who had received lands for constructing summer cottages. Not receiving any reply from G. Mkrtchyan, the FOICA lawyer petitioned to the first instance court of Kotayk region.

During the court hearing on March 14, 2006, the head of Nurnus village asked the court to examine the case in his absence, saying that the facts described in the petition are true. According to the first point of the 118th article of Armenia civil code, the court made a decision against the head of the village Mr. G. Mkrtchyan.

A quotation from the court decision of March 14, 2006

“Listening to the plaintiff and examining factual data the court has come to the conclusion that the request is valid and should be fulfilled... Taking into account the facts mentioned above and guided by the civil code of the Republic of Armenia the court decides to fulfill the claim. To oblige the head of Nurnus village to provide information about citizens who have been given lands in Nurnus village for constructing summer cottages”.

Despite the fact that the decesion was to come into force on March 29, 2006, on March 21, 2006 the head of Nurnus G. Mkrtchyan provided the whole requested information.
