Conflict Reporting and Safety of Journalists։ Meeting with Vudi Xhymshiti

The Freedom of Information Center of Armenia, in cooperation with YSU Faculty of Journalism, organizes a series of online courses dedicated to the peculiarities of journalists' work during conflicts. Journalists-experts with many years of experience, who covered the 44-day Artsakh war, share their knowledge and experience with the participants. They tell how to cover conflicts, contributing to its peaceful settlement and maintaining personal security.

On March 18, Vudi Xhymshiti from Great Britain, an international journalist who covers conflicts in a language that does not need translation through photos, told about his experience to the students and lecturers of YSU Faculty of Journalism. The Visual Journalism Specialist also has extensive teaching experience. Vudi conducts photojournalism and documentary photography courses, and has a special educational module designed to cover conflicts.

During the meeting, Vudi Xhymshiti  presented her experience, told about the skills that a journalist should master when covering conflicts. He mentioned that he was impressed by the hospitable, kind and at the same time brave type of the people of Artsakh, adding that he would make a film about Artsakh in the near future.

In the second part of the meeting, the participants addressed their questions to Vudi. His interesting answers and the rich biographical experience that the journalist has gained while covering various conflicts, impressed the student’s and the teaching staff.
