Yerevan hosts 8th award ceremony timed to the International Right to know Day

On September 28, Yerevan hosted the 8th award ceremony timed to the Freedom of Information Day. The ceremony was organized by the Freedom of Information Center of Armenia (FOICA). Golden Key nomination was set to award organizations, media and citizen who abode by their right to receive information.
Rusty Lock award was extended to the state institutions whose work lacks transparency.
At the ceremony, the head of FOICA Shushan Doydoyan specifically noted the progress in information freedom reported over the last 5 years in Armenia.
Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, who also participated in the ceremony, emphasized the importance of openness and transparency in the work of governmental institutions.
