The RA Government may join the Extractive Industries’ Transparency Initiative

On July 28, 2015, the first session of the newly established Anti-Corruption Council took place, chaired by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia (see http://www.gov.am/am/news/item/12061/).
The GOAM announced its intention to join the Extractive Industries’ Transparency Initiative (EITI). EITI is a global coalition of governments, companies and civil society working together to improve openness and accountable management of revenues from natural resources. David Harutyunyan, Minister/Chief of Staff of the Government of Armenia will lead the process towards joining EITI.
