Trainig for civil society representatives and state officials

Trainings – 3 weeks, May 2008
There were about 90 officials to be trained. They represented 45 government agencies. The participants were divided into 3 groups with 30 participants each. Training sessions for each group lasted 2 days, for approximately 8 hours per day.
The training focused on the following areas:
- Basic principles underlying freedom of information;
- Obligations of information officers under FOI law;
- Principles of documenting and filing;
- Traps of the FOI;
- Responsibilities and liability under the FOI;
- Court practice under the FOI.
At the end of each training session training participants took an exam to assess how effectively they had been retained the information and had also assessed on a practical level through a case study.The participants were given certificates by the OSCE Yerevan office chairman, Civil Service Council president and “Freedom of Information” centre. Trainings were conducted by the OSCE Yerevan office by the financial support of Government of Italy.
