Informed Armenia project

This project seeks to ensure that journalists and civil society organisations produce and share easy-to-understand information, news articles and contributes to a real debate about budget allocations and spending in Armenia. Duration: 18/05/2018 - 18/12/2019 (19 months), Implementing Partners: Freedom of Information Center of Armenia (FOICA), Maastricht-based European Journalism Center.

22.10.2018 - Regional trainings on Access to Information and public oversight of the budget have been launched

On October 19, the regional trainings of "Access to Information and Investigative Journalism for better Informed Citizens" Project have been launched. The project aims to ensure that journalists and civil society organizations create and disseminate available information and articles, as well as contribute to a genuine public discussion on budget allocation and spending in Armenia.

27.09.2018 - More informed society and state budget oversight: the project "Informed Armenia" has been launched

On September 27, 2018, the project “Access to information and investigative journalism for better-informed citizens”, co-funded by the European Union, was launched by “Freedom of Information Center” NGO. The EU Ambassador to Armenia Piotr A. Świtalski, representatives from the Freedom of Information Centre, Maastrich-based European Journalism Centre experts, as well as representatives from the EU, civil society organizations and media companies were present at the event. The project launch was accompanied with the opening of the Grand training session. The event was organised by the Freedom of Information Center, with financial support of the European Union and in cooperation with the Maastricht-based European Journalism Centre.

26.09.2018 - Press Release

On September 27, 2018, at 10 AM in Ani Plaza Hotel the "Freedom of Information Center "NGO organizes the launch of the project "Access to information and investigative journalism for better informed citizens", which is co-funded by the European Union and is implemented in cooperation with the Maastricht-based European Journalism Center. The project launch will be accompanied with the opening of the Grand training session.

05.09.2018 - Call for training sessions

Training sessions for 90 civil society organizations will be launched by the Freedom of Information Center in cooperation with the Maastricht-based European Journalism Center, with the co-financing of the European Union.

19.01.2018 - Armenian civil society receives €1.74 million for new activities

European Union provides new support to Armenian Civil Society for activities to promote and protect human rights and active citizenship.
