This project seeks to ensure that journalists and civil society organisations produce and share easy-to-understand information, news articles and contributes to a real debate about budget allocations and spending in Armenia. Duration: 18/05/2018 - 18/12/2019 (19 months), Implementing Partners: Freedom of Information Center of Armenia (FOICA), Maastricht-based European Journalism Center.

Name of the sub-grant project: “Capacity building for monitoring”
Brief Description:
The purpose of the project is to develop the institutional and technical capacity of the TV company to monitor the transparency, accountability and participatory governance of local authorities. To achive the goal, a number of problems are planned to be solved, in particular:
• Logistics database
• Participants' institutional capacity building
• Involvement of partner organizations
Expected results:
• The TV company will have a sufficient logistical base for monitoring
• Develop institutional capacity for monitoring.
• Grounds for cooperation with professional NGO will be laid
Actions in Brief:

Action 1.2. Acquisition of Equipment:
Action 2.1. An in-depth study of the requirements of the amended local self-government law with participants and experts.
Action 2.2. Enhance participants' ability to access information from the Internet and work with the site.
Action 2.3. Preparation of sample forms necessary for monitoring.
Action 3.1. Meeting and signing of a memorandum with “Legal Progress” legal Club and “Community Finance Officers “NGO.
Action 3.2. Meeting with the staff of the Department of Local Self-Government and Republican Executive Bodies of Armavir region
