Informed Armenia project
This project seeks to ensure that journalists and civil society organisations produce and share easy-to-understand information, news articles and contributes to a real debate about budget allocations and spending in Armenia. Brief Description:
"Clean Goris" NGO and "Plastic to Plastic" social entrepreneurship capacity building through youth engagement, awareness raising, improving of ecological mechanisms / through action processing.
Sub-goals:
• To inform the public about the «Clean Goris» NGO and «Plastic to Plastic» workshop in Goris community about their goals and objectives.Inform the public about the actions taken to ensure social and population connectivity.Involving youth in implementing waste management and reduction activities, reduce community negative impact on the Vararakn River.
• Social Impacts
About 15 young people from the Goris region are aware of environmental issues, 10 of which have been selected to participate in the one-day walking-tour.Educational high level module that will be further guide for young people interested in environmental issues. Action plans are developed to manage waste and prevent pollution, which are presented to the participants. Proposals to be submitted to Nature Protection Ministry. We have a clean river, updated NGO facebook page, 10 bins and signboards, waste, plastic waste, institutional capacity building, technically upgraded NGO and social enterprise.
A clean garbage truck with the logo and advertising of «Clean Goris» NGO travels in our community on weekends, collecting plastic waste from residents.
Actions in Brief:
Discuss with the local government and the Goris Municipality Housing and Communal Services CNCO the issues of organizing a Volunteer labor walk- tour along the river, determine the volunteer labor locations and placing of bins and signs.Arrangement for the acquisition and further processing of plastic sorted with the CNCO of the Goris Municipality Housing and Communal Service.Meetings and discussions with the elected youth and the members of the Council on the ecological situation of Vararakn River and its solution. Workshops will be organized with the Goris Enlarged Community Residents and local government representatives to inform about the project.15 young people will be selected to participate in the awareness raising through online questionnaire.Organize one-month monitoring through the youth.
The main Phase
Will be organized training to raise youth awareness.Will be edited an educational module which will be used for both NGOs and young people.The module will have the logo of the project implementing organization and «Aware Armenia», and notes about the organizations.10 out of 15 young people participating in the training and monitoring will be selected to participate in one-day hiking-conference.A training course on Facebook page management will be held with NGO members and selected 3 of the 10 young people.
